We are planning for another year of the Easton Book Festival, the free local celebration of reading, books, writers, and community. The goal is to provide in person and virtual programming for all ages, free and open to all. We want to have diverse, intentional, inclusive programs that include the neighborhoods and communities in the area and support both local and visiting authors. We want to support both established and emerging writers and connect across creative disciplines.
Over the years, we have worked on all kinds of programs, from topic panels and important conversations on social issues to performances and open mic events. We have included poets, puppeteers, musicians, artists, chefs, activists, journalists, teachers, publishers, book sellers, makers, scientists, illustrators, comic book artists, zine makers, healers, and so much more.
While some of us here at LVP serve on the board, we want to mention that Lehigh Valley Poetry as a loose collective and local organization is a partner and community sponsor (along with many others) of the Easton Book Festival and we provide programs and support collaboratively as part of the festival family.
We typically host live and virtual readings, panels, workshops, and events that we develop with the EBF committees and will be working on the same activities this year. Please keep an eye on the Easton Book Festival website, social media, and connected pages. More to come this October!
