Participating in One Hundred Thousand Poets For Change has been an annual tradition for many of us and I have had the honor of hosting events and reading in them, including with the founders Michael Rothenberg and Terri Carrion when they were still on the west coast. Their vision has caught on.

What attracted me to the organizing efforts was the social justice and environmental themes and the way that communities have been creating their own local versions. Global. Local. Here. Everywhere.
“100 Thousand Poets for Change, or 100TPC, is an international grassroots educational organization focusing on the arts, especially poetry, music, and the literary arts. It was founded in 2011 by Michael Rothenberg and Terri Carrion, and focuses on a worldwide event each September.”
We have hosted events in Easton and San Francisco, and each year the poetry has been inspiring. In September LVP will be involved in both a local event here and the 100TPC event planned in Souderton Park in Bucks County as part of the Souderton Arts Jam. This will be a marathon event on September 30, 2017 from 10-5 p.m. More info on the way and of course we will try to get photos and video for our new YouTube channel of poetry events.
Lehigh Valley Poets will be there from 3-4:00 and will include Cleveland Wall, Matt Wolf, Burton Stehly, Yodi Vaden, myself- Elynn Alexander, and a few more TBD. The theme for our LVP sets will be empathy and bridge building.
Chad Frame has been pulling this together and will also be releasing a fundraiser anthology. Details will be posted here soon.
